Headnodic makes some great music! He is a producer for Crown City Rockers, The Mighty Underdogs, Megaphone and Depech Moe just to name a few. I first heard about him when Lateef The Truth Speaker (future interview coming soon) and The Gift of Gab announced thier Mighty Underdogs Project. Here is the official video for the track Science Fiction! I love this blog! I never new about this video till I started writing this interview! Thanks Headnodic!

He just dropped a new album called RedLine Radio and it’s an album you should listen to! Click the image to get it now!

The tracks with Gab, Lateef, Moe Pope and Raashan Ahmad are definitely the stand out tracks for me. Check the video for Redline Radio (directed by Headnodic and HKL Films(interview coming soon)), its a good one!

The great news is he has A LOT MORE MUSIC coming out soon. Keep your eyes and ears open for it!

Tell us something Headnodic…

1. Why Hip Hop?

I grew up in the 80s right outside of NYC. So the radio stations were amazing for hip hop.

Then I lived in Wisconsin in the 90’s when MTV played music. I watched Yo MTV Raps every day (w/ Ed Lover & Dre), and on Sat. (W/ Fab 5 Freddy), and I’d tape all of the “Live Fridays”. I had an amazing collection of VHS tapes documenting the golden era of hip hop. Then they made that internet shit, and my collection is now useless (as is VHS). But I enjoyed it. Wait you asked me “Why hip hop?”… I guess my answer was more “How?” … anyways.

2. if you had $100k Drop in your lap right now what would you do with it?

I’d upgrade my recording equipment, & build a better studio. It’s kinda cramped in here.

3. If you could have 1 super power, what would it be and how would you use it?

I’d have whatever super-power Prince has, and I’d do what Prince does with it… But I’d put my own spin on it of course.

4. Do you have any skills in the kitchen? If yes, what’s your signature dish, if no why the hell not?

I have NOOO skills in the kitchen, I’m working out making my own beer though. My signature dish WILL be a crisp hoppy IPA (when I finally get it right).

5. What is your most memorable moment in your hip hop life?

Opening up for DeLa on the Queen Mary. When they dropped the beat for Grind Date it was the most thunderous beautiful thing ever, and I was standing back stage watching it with a bunch of folks that I grew up on… No wait…

The MOST memorable moment was going to see Ghostface at Maritime Hall in SF. We rolled 18 deep in the Crown City tour van blasting my WuTang mixture. The 18 of us were SO so hype that day, we started a mosh pit for Daytona 500… and it was Epic. Ahh the good ol days.

6. What is the #1 Junk Food you just can’t ever refuse?

Beer

7. What was your first job as a kid and what did it teach you?

Bagging at a grocery store. It taught me that I don’t wanna bag at a grocery store.

8. French Dip Sando or Lobster Roll?

Niether.

Bonus Question: After tasting it for the first time what do you think of GreenLight Jerky?

Peppery goodness.

ROCK ON Headnodic! Thanks for playing!
